Anyone wishing to schedule TRAINING DAYS should:
- Send their proposed schedule to the Chapter Vice-Chairman, with copies to the entire Chapter Board.
- The schedule will be approved, or modifications will be requested, by the Board within two weeks.
- Permits will be applied for only after Chapter Board approval.
- The schedule will be published upon notification to the Vice-Chairman, with copies to the rest of the Board, that the permits have been received.
- Difficulties in obtaining permits for specific dates are understood, and this policy will be interpreted and applied accordingly.
- Please note that insurance coverage by VDD-GNA is only applicable to sanctioned events.
Anyone wishing to coordinate a TEST should:
- Send their request with a proposed date and location, to the Chapter Test Director, who may or may not also be the Vice-Chairman, with copies to the entire Chapter Board.
- The Chapter Test Director will prepare the test schedule in consultation with the regional test coordinators, and then submit the test schedule with all pertinent details to the entire Chapter Board for approval.
- All Chapter tests will be scheduled with at least two weeks between events.
- The deadline for requesting spring tests is 15 November, and for fall tests is 15 May, in order for the Chapter to adequately conform to the Group-wide deadlines set forth in the VDD-GNA Rules of Procedure.
- Permits will be applied for only after Chapter Board approval.
- Difficulties in obtaining permits for specific dates are understood, and this policy will be interpreted and applied accordingly.
The purpose of these protocols is multi-faceted. The Chapter Board wants to encourage expansion and participation in all regions, wishes to minimize date conflicts, wants to discourage last-minute requests to the GNA Board for policy exceptions, and sees a need to have clear-cut procedures transparent to all members. Basically, we need to know about and approve tests by the 15th of November and 15th of May for spring and fall tests respectively, in order to make the publication deadlines mandated by GNA. Official chapter training days must be sanctioned by the chapter in order to be covered by GNA's insurance policy. Of course, this in no way limits individuals or groups of individuals from getting together to train privately - it's only for "official" training days for which state permits are required and where VDD/GNA and/or the VDD/GNA Atlantic Chapter are named as the permittee(s).
